Boss CE-2
This was my very first chorus pedal (aside from the one I used to borrow from my brother-in-law). It's one of the early ones; probably late 70's/ early 80's. Oddly enough, I don't use it any more.
Boss CS-2
This will squash your guitar to no end but I still love it; it's a one trick pony but it does that one thing very well!
Boss CS-3
Yup, it's a compressor.
Boss DD-5
This is a recent one that I got used for $60 with the box & manuals! It's a functional delay with a decent sound but unremarkable. Having said that, the reverse delay is bitchin' - that's worth the price of admission right there.
Boss DM-2
A great delay, very warm sounding and full of character. This is another oldie that I love to record with but don't take out very often. It has a very limited delay range but this pedal freaks out like no other; pure analogue bliss.
Boss GE-7
This is one of the older Japanese units that I bought off a fellow student while I was at Berklee for $20. I never use it but it does this cool filter sound that I dig recording with.
Boss GT-3
I bought this to replace my ME-10 but this pales in comparison to that. They did add a few cool more modern effects like more extensive delays and the elusive Slow Volume effect but all of the other sounds are devoid of any charm so what was the point? I still use it here & there however.
Boss ME-10
The holy grail. The absolute best multi-effects unit ever devised; so simple, so amazingly intuitve and every sound is truly unique. I run this into the effects loop on my amp and I've never heard a more gorgeous chorus sound, it's perfect. Why Boss went in such opposite directions for all future models boggles my mind because they created the perfect multi unit here; one that could have turned a blues purist into a knob twiddler in about 5 minutes! Once more, I end up playing the gear that the rest of the guitar world shuns! Now, if only Boss would listen to my ideas on making an updated Me-10.
Boss OC-2
Another one of the old Japanese Boss pedals; back when this was called the 'Octaver'. I haven't used this on stage in a long time but I love to record with it; good vibes all around with this unit.
Boss PN-2
Another Holy grail - I need this pedal! I saw The Stray Cats on their last tour in '92 (don't tell anyone at the venue that I was underage!) and Brian Setzer had one of these. I don't even think he used it that night but when I went back to school that September, I saw a pile of them at a local music store and they were on sale for $29.95! I wish I bought a dozen of them because they now go for about $200. It's one of those pieces of gear that I've made a real connection with and always pull cool sounds out of; it plays itself in a way. Essential.
Pro Co RAT
My first non-Boss pedal! I've used this at EVERY gig, rehearsal and recording since I was 16. I actually got this for my 16th Birthday by two dear friends and have used it ever since. This is one of the older and more valuable ones without the LED indicator on the front. I love the sound of it, it 'sings' like no other distortion or overdrive pedal I've found. I don't think I could play without seeing this one at my feet.
1989 Fender Stratocaster Plus
The holiest of holy grails! I wouldn't play with out this guitar; it's absolutely perfect and perfectly "me". I've never heard a Strat like this one and believe me, I've been looking! This guitar proves once again that I love the gear that the rest of the world shuns; the Strat Plus guitars are looked at as Fenders worst variation of the Strat. Well, Jeff Beck & I like them! I got this in 1990 when I graduated High School as a gift from my family; my Mother said "we can all chip in to get the guitar or we can throw a party for you, what do you want?" As I came home from the graduation ceremony to an empty house I looked at this guitar and thought to myself, "good choice".
Ibanez TS-9
An early 80's Tube Screamer. I like this pedal but it's not my RAT.
Boss XT-2
I got this from the flea market down the street for $10! It's been out of production for a few years now and is rumored to be a very hard find in a few years. This is something I wouldn't use all the time but it has 2 settings in it that are quite unique; I can't wait to really start using it more in a band situation. Plus, it's painted in red sparkle!
Zoom Fire 7010
I wanted this for that cool "underwater" sound that all Zoom units make. Too bad 90% of all the other sounds in here suck. Got it for free though, so I won't complain about it.
Boss PSM-5
One of the old Boss power supplies - good thing I have so many Boss pedals because that's all it powers!
