The year was 1984 and a musical vision cultivated between two frustrated trumpet players. Driven by the British New Wave movement, Joe Burcaw and Marco Passarelli purchased guitars and formed their first band. After numerous line up changes, a fellow classmate became the missing link to the future Azurtech sound. Enter Michael C. Jones.

Starting with their first rehearsal in 1987, a unique chemistry developed between the three. During the next five years different musicians came and went, but the bond between the bandmates grew stronger.

In 1992, after years of playing together, it was time for the band to grow creatively and begin writing their own songs. Through a trial and error period of five years, the band's musical vision finally came to fruition.

The band possess a unique musical style that's a melting pot of past generations with a keen eye towards the future. This sound is fully evident on their debut album 'PopJunkie'. With their new sounds and stylish musicianship, Azurtech is a breath of fresh air in an otherwise stale musical climate.
